Here at Our Lady and St. Bede, we know that it's really important for us to continually improve our vocabulary to better improve our literacy skills. This is why we celebrate and actively improve our vocabulary through the use of Word of the Week. Each week during form time, a new Tier 2 word is introduced to pupils, who are encouraged to use this word in their lessons throughout the week. Those who do earn House Points. Tier 2 words are high-frequency words which can be found in many different subject areas, but aren't as common as Tier 1 words. The words are also chosen as they appear in the articles we read as part of our form time reading. Improving our Tier 2 vocabulary helps us to improve our vocabulary across the whole curriculum, and also the wider world.
