Twice a year, Our Lady and St Bede proudly welcomes Year 6 pupils from our feeder primary schools to take part in our Mini Mission Day—a joyful, themed experience of faith, prayer, and community. Designed to support transition and ignite spiritual curiosity, the day brings together up to 120 pupils for a vibrant journey into the heart of our Catholic Life.
Each mini mission is themed and brought to life through a rich variety of activities including prayer, reflection, drama, music, dance, and creative tasks. Most importantly, every element is pupil-led—with our talented Faith Leaders from across the school guiding, supporting, and inspiring our young visitors.
The Mini Mission helps Year 6 pupils connect with the spirit and rhythm of our school’s Catholic identity, offering a warm introduction to the values, worship, and sense of community that define life at Our Lady and St Bede. It’s also a powerful opportunity for our own pupils to grow in confidence, leadership, and witness.
Our Advent Mini Mission this year was made even more special by the presence of Bishop Stephen, whose visit brought a sense of celebration and encouragement to all involved. His message of hope and joy was the perfect reminder of why we gather—to grow together in faith, friendship, and love.
These mission days are a treasured part of our calendar, helping us live out our calling to form the whole child, form their faith, and prepare them for the journey ahead.
