At Our Lady & St. Bede's Catholic Academy, our annual Service of Remembrance was a profound moment of unity, reflection, and prayer. The entire school community gathered in stillness to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for others.
This year’s liturgy was student-planned and student-led, showcasing the creativity and leadership of our pupils. The service featured a powerful video presentation, a moving performance by our Worship Choir, and a solemn parade by our cadets, each element contributing to an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude.
A highlight of the service was Mrs Wilkinson’s performance of The Last Post, which created a deeply reflective moment for all present. Linking to our whole-school theme of ‘Masterpiece’, students were invited to recognise their own worth and the worth of others—reminding us that every life is precious and every act of courage shapes the world we live in.
Our Service of Remembrance was not only a tribute to the fallen but also a call to live with respect, gratitude, and hope, values that lie at the heart of our Catholic mission.
