Year 10 pupils and their families at Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy in Stockton have taken the first exciting steps towards their future careers following the launch of the school's 2027 Work Experience programme.
The launch event saw a fantastic turnout, with pupils, parents and carers coming together to learn more about the opportunities and benefits that work experience can provide.
Preparing for the World of Work
The evening introduced families to the work experience process and highlighted the valuable role placements can play in helping young people develop key skills for the future.
Work experience offers students the chance to gain first-hand insight into the workplace, build confidence and independence, develop employability skills and begin exploring potential career pathways.
Guidance from the CEIAG Team
A special thank you goes to Miss Coates, the academy's CEIAG Lead, who led the event and guided families through the process of finding and securing a meaningful placement.
Her presentation provided practical advice and support, helping students and parents understand the steps involved in arranging a successful work experience opportunity.
Ongoing Support for Students
To ensure every family has access to the information they need, all resources from the launch event, including the Work Experience Information Guide, will be shared via Arbor.
Year 10 students will also have the opportunity to revisit the process during a dedicated assembly, where they can ask questions and learn more about the next steps in securing their placements.
Exciting Opportunities Ahead
The launch marks the beginning of an important stage in the Year 10 journey, giving students the chance to explore their interests, gain valuable workplace experience and begin thinking about their future ambitions.
Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy is looking forward to supporting Year 10 pupils as they take this exciting step towards the world of work and discover where their talents and aspirations might lead them.
