Our recent Personal Development Day Careers Fair at Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy in Stockton was a huge success, bringing together more than 30 colleges, employers and apprenticeship providers. Every pupil had the opportunity to visit throughout the day, exploring future pathways and discovering exciting possibilities beyond secondary school.

Year 8 Take on the National Careers Challenge

Year 8 pupils enthusiastically took part in the National Careers Challenge, working in partnership with British Airways to design a brand-new sustainable airline. This project encouraged teamwork, problem‑solving, creativity and innovative thinking — all essential skills for the modern world.

Year 7 Explore Hydrogen Technology and Sustainability

Meanwhile, Year 7 enjoyed an engaging hydrogen cars workshop, learning about:

  • net zero goals
  • the science behind hydrogen power
  • the role sustainable technology could play in the future

The workshop sparked curiosity and opened pupils’ eyes to how engineering and environmental science can shape tomorrow’s world.

A Real Celebration of Opportunity, Ambition and Resilience

Days like this highlight the importance of attending school, staying engaged and working hard. Our pupils showed enthusiasm, maturity and ambition as they prepared for the wider world with confidence.
