From Monday to Wednesday, our Year 8 pupils took part in a truly memorable residential retreat at the Diocesan Youth Village, led by the inspiring Youth Ministry Team.

Faith, Fun and Friendship

Across the three days, pupils experienced a rich and meaningful programme that combined:

  • Faith‑filled activities and prayer
  • Fun games and team challenges
  • Thoughtful discussions and reflection

The retreat provided valuable opportunities to build friendships, strengthen relationships and take time away from everyday routines to reflect on faith and personal growth.

Growing in Confidence and Faith

It was wonderful to see pupils stepping outside their comfort zones, growing in confidence and engaging thoughtfully with their faith in such a positive and supportive environment. Many returned with new friendships, fresh perspectives and lasting memories.

Thank You to Our Staff and Chaplain

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff for accompanying the trip and supporting pupils throughout the retreat. We are also incredibly grateful to our chaplain, Liz, for organising such a meaningful and well‑planned experience.

At Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy, opportunities like this residential retreat play an important role in nurturing faith, character and community.
