As part of our Lumina Programme, 60 Year 9 and Year 10 pupils visited Stockton Sixth Form College for an inspiring and thought‑provoking morning focused on aspiration and future pathways.
Broadening Horizons Through Learning
Pupils took part in a carousel of engaging sample sessions, exploring subjects beyond the typical school curriculum, including:
- Law
- Politics
- Psychology
- Philosophy
- Global Opportunities
These sessions were designed not just to introduce new content, but to open minds, stretch thinking and challenge perceptions of what pupils can achieve.
Thinking Big and Looking Ahead
Throughout the visit, pupils:
- Debated big ideas
- Thought like future leaders
- Experienced what post‑16 study can offer
- Began to see themselves in ambitious futures
The visit encouraged pupils to imagine what lies beyond secondary school and to recognise their potential in a wider world.
Aspiration at the Heart of Our Mission
At Our Lady and St Bede Catholic Academy, we are committed to forming young people who are not only successful locally, but who are ready to be global players — confident, curious and courageous in shaping their own future.
A huge thank you to the team at Stockton Sixth Form College for delivering such an engaging and aspirational experience.
This is Lumina. This is aspiration in action.
