A Powerful Witness of Faith
Pupils from Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy experienced a truly memorable and faith-filled day during their pilgrimage to Walsingham.
They had the honour of:
- Carrying the statue of Our Lady of Walsingham along the Holy Mile
- Joining thousands of pilgrims in a shared act of faith and devotion
- Taking part in a solemn Mass in the Basilica
Two pupils were also invited to present the offertory gifts, marking a particularly special moment for the school community.
Living Out Faith Through Service
Throughout the pilgrimage, pupils showed exceptional character by:
- Supporting elderly pilgrims through acts of kindness
- Leading with confidence, reverence, and respect
- Representing the academy with pride and compassion
In the evening, pupils played a central role in the Torchlight Procession, leading bidding prayers they had written themselves before joining in prayer and reflection with others from across the country.
A Memorable and Meaningful Experience
Led by Mrs Welsh, Mrs Devine, and Fr Mark, alongside the wider parish community, the pilgrimage has been both a spiritual and personal journey for all involved.
The pupils have been a true credit to the school, living out their faith through service, compassion, and example.
We are incredibly proud of them.
