A Fantastic Community Effort

Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy came together in true community spirit today for our Lent Bake Sale — and what an incredible turnout it was! Pupils and staff filled the break‑time area with delicious cakes, creative bakes and plenty of generosity.

A Celebration of Giving

We extend a huge thank you to everyone who baked, donated or came along to buy a treat (or two!). The cakes didn’t last long, but the impact certainly will.

Every penny raised will be donated to CAFOD, supporting vital projects that help communities around the world, particularly those living in poverty or facing crisis.

Living Out Our Catholic Mission

This event was a wonderful example of what Lent calls us to do — prayer, fasting and almsgiving. By giving to others, our pupils lived out key principles of Catholic Social Teaching, including:

  • Solidarity: Standing alongside those in need
  • Option for the Poor and Vulnerable: Putting others first
  • The Common Good: Acting to make the world fairer for everyone

A Beautiful Expression of Faith and Generosity

Today’s bake sale showed what makes our academy community so special: kindness, compassion and a commitment to making a difference.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a meaningful success. A perfect example of faith in action during the season of Lent.
